Two photos I took today…
For the last week or so, I have been frantically running back and forth between marches and meetings, camera in hand, with a heavy backpack bouncing upon my back. I have been in the thick of it, trying to capture the determination, solidarity, and diversity of this movement through my lens. It was the foundations of the Occupy Movement that drew me to Occupy Boston. Yet, despite photographing the faces of Occupy Boston, I still felt somewhat detached from the moments I could not photograph. I decided to see a side of Occupy Boston I couldn’t photograph and connect more with the personalities and ideals that drew me there initially.
With a tent roughly a few feet wide all set up and plenty of blankets for some cushion, our night began. Occasionally people stopped by to talk and despite the serious nature of our conversations, it was all love and smiles. There was a foundational unity I sensed permeating all around me last night, we all know these things are wrong and we are here to change it. I felt a profound oneness with those around me and despite our many reasons, as individuals, for coming here, I feel very good about the direction of Occupy Boston. Lets keep Occupy Boston and Occupy movements worldwide going as long as we see fit, until we are content with the change we so desperately need.
easily 10,000 people marching today! If you think #occupyboston has a right to be here, let @mayortommenino know: 617-635-4500!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE PART OF THE 99%, USE THAT BEAUTIFUL VOICE OF YOURS.
